II. Clustering

Cheap transportation and instant communications paradoxically made
the country far more familiar and fluid, even as local and distinct
state cultures made Americans far more estranged from one another. The
ironic result was that Americans got to know far more about states other
than their own, and they now had the ability to move easily to places
more compatible with their own politics. Self-selection increased,
especially among retirees.

Small-government, low-tax, pro-business states grew more attractive
for the middle classes. Big-government, generous-welfare, and high-tax
blue states mostly drew in the poor and the wealthy. Gradually, in the
last 20 years, our old differences began to be defined by geography as
well.

IV. The Salad Bowl

Racial relations deteriorated. Affirmative action was no longer
predicated on the sins of slavery and Jim Crow and aimed at reparations
in hiring and admissions for African Americans, often on the implicit
rational of helping the poorer to enter the middle class.

Instead, “diversity” superseded affirmative action and eventually constituted an incoherent binary of white–non-white.

V. The Post-War Order

The world of post-1945 is coming to a close — after the end of the
Cold War, the collapse of the Soviet Union, the unification of Germany,
the creation of the European Union, the ascendance of a mercantilist and
authoritarian China, and the post-9/11 rise of radical Islamic
terrorism. Our closest NATO allies near the barricades of Russian
aggression and radical Islam are the least likely of the alliance to
prepare militarily. Yet Russia is a joke compared with the challenge of
China. The European Union project is trisected by north-south financial
feuding, east-west immigration discord, and Brexit — and the increasing
realization that pan-European ecumenicalism requires more force and less
democracy to survive than did the old caricatured nation-state.

On Education

philosophicalconservatism:

The purpose of education is to encourage the individual  to emerge from within himself and his own world, and to discover the wider universe (a universe that includes nature itself , human artistic imagination etc.).  The purpose of self esteem philosophy is the opposite.  It is to submerge the child in himself, and his own world. It turns children born with an unbound natural curiosity, from world seeking individuals into self seeking individuals. But instead of aiming to program or propagandize the child into believing certain things about himself, why not simply show him the truth about himself? Simply expose him to the wealth of knowledge available within every field of human learning and exploit his natural curiosity.

But when someone is shown the truth (about themselves or anything else) they have the power. When they are programmed with a “truth” it is the  person doing the programming who holds the power.

Over the past thirty years conservatives were busy building an entire culture around anti-socialism while the Left was busy pushing its cultural trojan horse to unleash a whole different kind of plague. Maybe deep down many conservatives knew the anti-white damn would burst but they were too cowardly to confront it. Don’t believe me? Railing against socialism won’t get you fired from Google but notice the toxic way in which “diversity” is being used against white and you’ll be untouchable.

A Vital American Value Is Tolerance. We Are Losing It

cultml:

Tolerance is ultimately an expression of humility. We must be humble
before he who sees all things because we never will see all things
ourselves. Anybody in the United States capable of uttering the phrase
“Maybe I’m wrong,” is doing more benefit to the body politic than those
who eschew such modesty.

Like
all virtues, tolerance comes with dangers that must be considered, lest
it turn into relativism. At its worst, tolerance robs us of the ability
to make judgments regarding right and wrong. Without an overarching
moral framework and, more importantly, laws, tolerance can create chaos.
Decent people should not tolerate a good many things. But for the most
part political, religious, moral, and philosophical differences do not
fall in this category.

It may well be reasonable for those on the left to say they will not
tolerate Trump and his supporters’ rhetoric, or for those on the right
to say they will not tolerate the chilling of free speech. But what we
must remember is that ultimately what is being tolerated is not the
idea, but the person espousing it. So long as that person is speaking in
a respectful and nonviolent manner, he or she should almost always be
extended tolerance.

American Socialism through the Prism of Marxism

cultml:

What
is socialism?  Who are American socialists, and what are they fighting
for?  Socialism is a political philosophy and economic system that
promotes egalitarianism – a theory of economic equality.  It is usually
defined as “common ownership of the means of production,” which is in
the ballpark of the definition given by Karl Marx.

Lenin
defined socialism as a society organized on the principle “from each
according to his abilities and to each according to his work
[contribution].”

But Barack Obama nailed it.  In his speech in Berlin, Germany on July 24, 2008, he declared:

“This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably.”

The
acquisition of this knowledge predisposed Obama to the recognition that
society does not necessarily require government ownership of the means
of production to implement the egalitarian dream.  As long as the
government controls the economy and is able to replace the free-market
capitalist economy with political economy, and subsequently control
profits, the objectives of socialism can be achieved.  Obama also
ascertained that in order to control the economy, the government needs
to control only three major sectors – health care, finance, and energy.

Progress Down a Slope

Here
are some questions for America’s bashers.  What would happen if, as
once common, people could manage with fewer lawyers, advocates, drugs,
and therapists?  Could they live with safe schools and neighborhoods,
entertainment free of sex and “politically correct” warp?  What would
happen if more people worked at useful jobs?  Could there be a problem
with schools, churches, and media not pushing Marxist propaganda?  What
would Americans do with an America-loving president?  Could they bear up to all such oppression?

The
connection between today’s rampant disorder and leftist machinations
against American society should be plain to all who really care about
America.  Unfortunately, it’s hard for many to see what has been going
on without their knowledge; brainwash is difficult to detect.  You could
read the papers, watch the news, listen to lectures, sermons,
speeches, and not know that you were being brainwashed.  Being
“reformed” while being “informed” or “entertained” is, for most, harder
to detect than the smell of gas leaking into a room.  It is why so many
in the mainstream are clueless about what has happened to them and to
our country.  It is why so many continually cast votes that
incrementally dismantle their own society while honestly believing they
are doing the right thing.

Who’s to Blame for Our Bitter Divide?

cultml:

The Democratic Party long ago ceased being the party of collectivist
ideas. Today it is the party of identity collectivism. It’s what Ayn
Rand once called “barnyard collectivism.” Further, identity politics not
only engenders hateful divisiveness, it encourages violence and
threatens the stability of our democratic institutions.

Inevitable backlash. If you listen to Democrats talk
about the groups they are going to help and you are white or male or
straight, you have to be pretty dense if you fail to notice you are not
on their list. So Republicans don’t have to do much of anything in order
to attract white, straight, male voters. What’s amazing is how
restrained they have been.

If Republicans campaigned the way Democrats do, every time Michelle
Obama says, “vote for us because you are black,” Republicans would say
“vote for us because you are white.” Every time Hillary says vote for me
because you are a woman, Republicans would say “vote for us because you
are male.”

Here’s why this is dangerous. One step away from the belief that you
have no right to express your ideas is the belief that you have no right
to vote. One step away from the idea that you have no right to express
your ideas in the polling booth is the belief that the people you vote
for have no right to govern.

When lawfully elected governments are
deposed in other countries it is almost always in the context of a
claim that elected officials had no legitimate right to be elected in
the first place.
