I was thinking about tumblr as a refuge from twitter after the recent bannings. tumblr is far easier to use and less restrictive. add an import feature,maybe a “condensed” post. and fix the ongoing issues

why not use this “algorithm” to bur, restrict, or use as a filter. Or set up a clone of tumblr not connect to tumblr proper and allow it to be seen by those how want.

I understand taking your content and deleting your account. How then do we still find those people? May be delete the content and just post a “forwarding address” as it where. Maybe hold off deleting till Christmas or new years. Has someone made a place for a directory/ a redit thread, facebook page  or idk

I don’t understand the sudden nuking of all of it. If Apple is pulling the strings, hoist the black flag and lead as many away as u can, better to go out under a black flag than in chains

the point (which i didn’t get to) was that I am not planning on leaving, really it seems like to much work, and I don’t like to be pushed. Banning porn in public is good. Agreed. Why? idk… to protect children? A child of 5yrs?…10..16,18,21,30,33? And protection from what? porn in starbuck, sex clubs with a window or behind a nondescript door, strip club in a strip mall, topless performers just onside of town, nude beach, topless beach, burlesque? what age for what and where? Parents choice, yes. Which parents? those in Kabul or San Fan? What is sexual repression and what are the effects? At what point are we stiffening society to protect children that are hurt in the end by the rule meant to protect their younger selves? idk

Tumblr is banning more than porn, which is a big part of the problem.

It would be better if we stop telling people not to eat junk food. we should tell they should eat real food more. The absolutist condemnation of things harmful in mass quantities is harmful and undermines the ability to learn self control.

growing up in maine us writers were of course always comparing ourselves to stephen king.  TURNS OUT HE’S FUCKING WRITER GEORG

“average writer writes 3 books a year" factoid actualy just statistical error. average person writes 1 book per year. Steven King, who lives in cave & writes over 10,000 each day, is an outlier adn should not have been counted

I now just want a showdown between Steven King and Brandon Sanderson

Real talk, it’s important to remember when the Stephen King advice is going back around that this is the standard he’s working from. He’s basically not even human. Nobody needs to hold themselves to his standards
