Whatever the returns show on Nov. 6, bums either thrown out or denied
entrance to the premises will huddle together while the people make up
their minds about the incoming crop of self-professed saviors. For all
the media-encouraged conversation about anarchy versus authoritarianism
as the stark choice before the voters, the old rules hold good. For
better or for worse, the people decide.
It’s a consoling thought
– never to be used as a sleeping pill. The “fundamental principles” of
our life together, as Mason saw them, are based on freedom. We have to
hold freedom aloft, work for it, love it: most of all, perhaps,
understand it. Genuine freedom is exercised for “the common good,” in
Mason’s telling. Accordingly, it entails duties to others, performed in a
spirit of charity and restraint and care for consequences.
Can I just take a second and talk about thrift stores. Not a lot of people know how they operate, most people think they get their inventory for free but they don’t and the actual business practice is actually pretty awesome… and it’s only possible with capitalism.
They found a way to turn peoples unwanted crap into 3 things: jobs, profit and funding for charity. They take your unwanted stuff and they pay a charity for the things you bring them. Then they take that stuff and sell it and those sales allow them to keep contributing to charity and to pay for their overhead costs which include employing people. So they make money, charities make money and the employees make money. and they provide a service because now people who are either on a budget or are in search of older collectibles and items have a place to find what they are looking for. All thanks to stuff that would probably have just ended up in the garbage. So it’s good for the environment too, keeps stuff out of the garbage. Oh and some organizations also do business with developing countries by sending them the stuff that doesn’t sell. Which is actually better than just giving poor people money because it helps their economies and helps them be self sufficient. Everybody wins and it’s all thanks to capitalism and some business sense.
When was the last time communism created wealth, jobs, a service utilized typically by the poor, and charitable funding all the while benefitting the environment and all without force or coercion. Capitalism ftw.
It
has happened because revolutionary ideological forces have been subtly
at work to transform society from within – slowly and broadly, so as to
be almost unnoticed. Most assumed that winning the Cold War meant we
also defeated the Marxist ideology backing the Soviet Union. Yet a
closer look at social history in 20th-century America shows that strains
of neo-Marxism have proliferated and collectively provided the central
transformative ideological force shaping American culture over the last
several generations and into the present.
Antonio
Gramsci was a leading 20th-century Marxist theoretician who argued that
communists’ power in developed, industrialized societies such as the
United States would be best achieved through a “long march through the
institutions.” This would be a gradual process of radicalization of the
cultural institutions – “the superstructure” – of bourgeois society, a
process that would in turn transform the values and morals of
society. Gramsci believed that as society’s morals were softened, its
political and economic foundation would be more easily undermined and
restructured.
…It’s
not the older conservatives but younger ones and future generations who
are facing an unpleasant and unprecedented future if this trajectory
continues. Not without reason are Millennials questioning the byzantine
social codes and power dynamics they inherited from Boomers. Unlike Cold
Warrior conservatives who were raised in communities with high social
trust whose unifying threat was Eastern communism, Millennials were the
first guinea pigs in the “racial blindness” experiment their elders
enlisted them into.
…Over
the past thirty years conservatives were busy building an entire
culture around anti-socialism while the Left was busy pushing its
cultural trojan horse to unleash a whole different kind of plague. Maybe
deep down many conservatives knew the anti-white damn would burst but
they were too cowardly to confront it. Don’t believe me? Railing against
socialism won’t get you fired from Google but notice the toxic way in
which “diversity” is being used against white and you’ll be untouchable.
By the age of Obama the hatch-door opened and ever since then society’s
been on an explicitly anti-white trajectory.
…The
“Diversity” program has unmasked itself – hopefully too soon. Diversity
is no transcendental virtue it’s a political program with one
denominator “less white”. No champion of Diversity is decrying China for
being too Chinese, Sudan for being too black or that Detroit’s
backwards for a lack of whites. “Person of Color” is the latest newspeak
cynically designed to isolate white people. There is a cultural force
that has hit critical mass and it needs to be confronted head-on.
