FREE ART PROGRAMS

So recently I came across a fellow artist who was struggling to find a free art program, and considering dropping the large amount of money for a Photoshop license. I know not everyone can afford such an expensive program, so I’ve compiled a list of programs with no cost to download and use.

Keep in mind all computers are different, so not all will work for everyone. Also, I’ve only ever used Windows, so for the most part, I’m not sure if everything will work for Mac. if in doubt check the website linked.

Photoshop CS2 – (Windows, not sure about Mac.)

FireAlpaca – (Windows and Mac)

Sketchbook Copic Edition – (Windows and Mac)

GIMP – (Windows) (Mac)

Paint tool SAI [cracked]  – (Windows) (Mac)

Paint tool SAI 2 beta – (tumblr post on said program)

iPaint – (Mac)

Paintbrush – (Mac)

Pencil – (Windows, Mac)

Paint.NET – (Windows)

Seashore [still in development, ver 0.5] – (Mac)

ChocoFlop – (Mac)

Inkscape – (Mac and Windows)

ArtRage [Demo] – (Mac and Windows)

OpenCanvas 1.1[must pay for 2.0] – (Windows, not sure about Mac.)

MyPaint – (Windows)

Krita – (Windows)

Vectorian [Supports Animation] – (Windows)

Pixia[Japanese, some English versions] – (Windows)

Asperite – (Windows)

Chasys Draw IES – (Windows)

SmoothDraw – (Windows)

TwistedBrush Open Studio – (Windows)

BOUNS – CTRL+Paint [Great for teaching all kinds of stuff, like how to use digital programs.]

If you know more free programs, please add onto this!

OpenToonz has made many improvements since it’s initial release! (Windows & Mac)

Medibang Paint is a comic drawing software forked from FireAlpaca mentioned earlier in this post, and is available for mobile devices as well! (Windows, Mac, iOS, Android)

Normalize losing your virginity after receiving the Sacrament of Marriage.

Not going to happen until we fix all the things making people put off marriage until their in their mid 30′s. Like:

– The concept of adolescence delaying maturity

– 12 years of mandatory public education and 4-7 additional years for the adult summer camp called college that is no longer a benefit in the job market and delays earning potential and puts people in debt so they don’t have the financial stability to start a family until much later in life.

– Socialist policies and taxes that cause inflation and limit buying power making it difficult for a family to live off of one income source so everyone needs to have a job and there’s much less time for socializing and finding partners.

– The constant stream of feminist rhetoric demonizing men and promising women fulfillment if they avoid marriage and family and focus on giving their best years to a company instead. Driving a social wedge between the sexes with marxist collectivist nonsense.

– Feminist tampering in the legal system that has made marriage such an unattractive prospect that more and more are saying fuck that to. Like that even talking to a woman could get them #metooed or the prospect of a divorce meaning your ex wife takes your kids and you have to work yourself to death to give her money to help finance her life with some new guy all so you can be called a dead beat because a court wont let you see them more than a couple times a week. Or the knowledge that if your wife ever becomes abusive you’re basically fucked because you’re either going to jail for abuse for fighting back, you get divorced and a lien is put on your income after you lose half of everything or you just sit and get abused.

Biologically we’re not designed to put off sex until our 30′s so until we solve all of that ^ the cultural practice of waiting till marriage for sex wont ever be re-established.

Do not punish the behaviour you want to see

I mean, it seems pretty obvious when you put it like that, right?

But how many families, when an introvert sibling or child makes an effort to socialize,  snarkily say, “So, you’ve decided to join us”?

Or when someone does something they’ve had trouble doing, say, “Why can’t you do that all the time?” (Happened to me, too often.)

Or any sentence containing the word “finally”.

If someone makes a step, a small step, in a direction you want to encourage, encourage it. Don’t complain about how it’s not enough. Don’t bring up previous stuff. Encourage it.

Because I swear to fucking god there is nothing more soul-killing, more motivation-crushing, than struggling to succeed and finding out that success and failure are both punished.
