By manipulating white guilt
and railroading a race-conscious agenda through every area of American
society, including the media, pop culture, and the education system,
liberals have stigmatized – and to a large extent, delegitimized – conservatism and the GOP. (I made this point in a recent article at The Federalist titled “Conservatism’s ‘Racism’ Isn’t What You Think It Is”.)

As
result of this racist labeling, conservatives have lost their moral
authority, and their voices have been stifled in the public square.

This
chilling effect has been exacerbated during the Obama presidency, as
people have been afraid to criticize a black president because they
don’t want to be called a racist.

That fear is dissipating, however.

‘If you see a white person…say something’

To
any thoughtful observer, it is painfully clear that there are two
distinct parts of the Democrat plantation: the D.C. swamp and the useful
idiots in the streets.  The relationship between the two is intuitively
obvious but seldom exposed.  The swamp exists because it has enough
vocal support, both on the streets and in the press.  The very air it
breathes is on the pages of the New York Times and commentary on CNN,
fed by cameras in Berkeley and on the steps of the Supreme Court.

That brings us to the key question.  Which came first: the useful idiots, or the swamp?

The Democrats’ Leadership Crisis

The Democratic Party long ago ceased being the party of collectivist
ideas. Today it is the party of identity collectivism. It’s what Ayn
Rand once called “barnyard collectivism.” Further, identity politics not
only engenders hateful divisiveness, it encourages violence and
threatens the stability of our democratic institutions.

Inevitable backlash.If you listen to Democrats talk
about the groups they are going to help and you are white or male or
straight, you have to be pretty dense if you fail to notice you are not
on their list. So Republicans don’t have to do much of anything in order
to attract white, straight, male voters. What’s amazing is how
restrained they have been.

If Republicans campaigned the way Democrats do, every time Michelle
Obama says, “vote for us because you are black,” Republicans would say
“vote for us because you are white.” Every time Hillary says vote for me
because you are a woman, Republicans would say “vote for us because you
are male.”

Here’s why this is dangerous. One step away from the belief that you
have no right to express your ideas is the belief that you have no right
to vote. One step away from the idea that you have no right to express
your ideas in the polling booth is the belief that the people you vote
for have no right to govern.

When lawfully elected governments are
deposed in other countries it is almost always in the context of a
claim that elected officials had no legitimate right to be elected in
the first place.
